We are excited to announce we will have an in-person, outdoor graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021!

When: Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 4:30 PM

Where: Channel Islands High School Football Field

  • Why is graduation at Channel Islands High School this year? Graduation Commencement Exercises would traditionally have been held at Hueneme High School's Andy McEuen Stadium.  However, the field is under renovation and currently does not have homestand bleachers to hold all of our guests.  In the interest of capacity, social distancing protocol, and proximity, we carefully considered the following locations as alternates:
    • CHANNEL ISLANDS HIGH SCHOOL, 1400 Raiders Way (2.3 miles from HHS)
      • Four tickets (with the possibility of one additional ticket) per Senior for guests.
      • Allows for least 1,848 guests with proper social distancing between families.
    • OXNARD COLLEGE, 4000 S. Rose Ave. (1.7 miles from HHS) and OXNARD PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 800 Hobson Way (2.5 miles from HHS)
      • Maximum of two tickets per Senior for guests at each venue.
      • Allows for a maximum of 924 guests with proper social distancing between families.
      • Oxnard College only offers paid parking
  • After careful consideration of proximity to Hueneme High School and accommodating as many families and friends as possible to celebrate with the Class of 2021, Channel Islands High School was the best option to host our Commencement Exercises.

Who: Each graduating senior will receive four (4) tickets for the ceremony. Please check back here for details on how and when to pick up tickets. No extra tickets will be distributed due to social distancing. Bleachers will be marked appropriately for each family. Please bring a mask. Graduation will also be live-streamed and accessible from the Hueneme High School website and Viking Vision. Graduation begins at 4:30 PM. Click here to view the live-stream.

How:There will be NO graduation rehearsal for students. Seniors will follow the lead of Hueneme High School faculty and staff.

Dress Code

Female Graduates(those who identify as female):
Dress appropriately for this important event: a dress, skirt/top, or dressy pants and blouse.
Shoes: comfortable flats, wedge heels, tennis shoes, dressy sandals, or block heels(bigger than 1 inch heel at the base)
Because of the new Stadium Field, Stiletto heels MAY NOT be worn. The pointed heel will break through the surface and damage the field.

Male Graduates(those who identify as male):
Dress appropriately for this important event: collared shirt, (tie and/or suit coat optional) and dress slacks.
Shoes: Dress shoes or tennis shoes.

Please take into consideration the following rules when decorating your graduation cap.

 NO offensive language, sayings, nicknames, symbols, sports logos, pictures, or lyrics on cap.
 NO objects such as signs, stuffed animals, bells, flowers, or any 3D object may rest on the cap.
ALL decorations MUST LAY FLAT on the cap ONLY (Nothing can lay perpendicular thus allowing us to see the decoration beyond eye level)
 Your cap CANNOT make noise (No bells, horns, or anything that makes noise)

The following are suggestions for appropriate cap decorations:

  • A "Thank You" to a parent, grandparent, family member, teacher, guardian, or mentor
  • Recognition of the university you will attend or military service branch
  • Inspirational quotes

Failure to follow these rules may result in not walking the line at Graduation.

Caps MAY NOT be decorated IF you use a rental Graduation Gown.
